About this course

This eLearning course has 3 sections:

  2. Ways to uphold Privacy and Dignity
  3. Supporting an individual's right to make choices
     

On completion you will:

  • Understand what is meant by Privacy and Dignity
  • Be able to identify situations where an individual’s privacy and dignity could be compromised 
  • Explore ways in which to maintain privacy and dignity in the work setting
  • Understand why it is important not to disclose anything about the individual that they may wish to be kept private, unless it is appropriate to do so
  • Identify ways of helping individuals to make informed choices
  • Understand how risk assessment processes can be used to support the right of individuals to make their own decisions, and why your personal views must not influence an
  • Individual’s own choices or decisions
  • Understand how to support an individuals active participation in planning their care and support programme
