About this course

On completion of the course you will:

  • Understand how infections can get into the body
  • Understand the precautions you need to take to both prevent and control infection
  • Know how to deal with soiled linen/clothing and clinical waste in a safe way
  • Know how to wash your hands thoroughly, and when to use alcohol gels and sprays
  • Understand different methods of decontamination
  • Recognise the different legislation and agreed ways of working that you must follow in order to prevent and control infection
