Epilepsy & Buccal Midazolam Practical Training

This course teaches candidates about seizures, in particular epileptic seizures. Candidates will learn how to recognise early warning symptoms and what action should be taken.

The course covers the following core elements:

  • What to do if someone has an epileptic seizure
  • The beginning, middle and end of a seizure
  • What can provoke a seizure
  • Moods and behaviour
  • Memory Loss
  • When to call an ambulance
  • Living with epilepsy
  • The connection between Epilepsy and Learning Disability
  • SUDEP
  • The definition of Status Epilepticus
  • The recognition of seizures which require emergency medication (Buccal Midazolam)

I really enjoyed the emergency first aid online course. I have done a few and this one was very detailed. It probably helps it is one of my favourite subjects, but it is not too easy, it's spot on! I look forward to the practical and I'm really happy I beat the record. I expect a gold badge lol.. I learnt some new skills to remember, I never knew about Agonal breathing .... very interesting. I'm glad I'm making an impact before even starting properly. I also took load of notes for uni!
